Fledgling Fyora rootsie Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 Hello there, I am doing the first (?) Corrupted Bits quest, where you have to pick up some mushrooms. And I just cannot for the life of me figure out how to beat those weak, but invulnerable mobs. I tried everything. Every type of damage, interacting with the mushrooms (at least the closest 5, after that the enemies just wear me down), putting 5+ of them to 0 health at the same time. Hell, I even tried killing them on floor tiles that do not consist of fungi. That's how desperate I am. Even tried just running away, but that is impossible. As soon as one gets close, you are stuck in melee. Nothing helps. So, how can I kill these things? And don't tell me I can't because then I might as well stop playing as you are not able to escape these beasts. And the last save before that fight is a looong time away - and I never play when I lost much time. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 The controller horrors needed to be killed and each one controls two of the fungi monsters. The round after you kill one, you should be able to finish off the others so they don't keep attacking. Another trick is to use summoned monstera and turrets to occupy them while you chase down the controllers. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. Kyshakk Koan Alberich Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 If this is the quest I think it is...another way is not to beat them at all. If I remember, there are two quests you have to do in that dungeon. One involves a one-way trip to the north...do that one first. The other involves picking up mushrooms to the northwest. Do that one last. The thing to remember is that if one character goes up the stairs, they all go up the stairs, and you keep the items you gathered. So go into combat mode, and let one character go get the mushrooms while another stays near the stairs. Once you have what you need -- have your stay-behind climb the stairs, and never look back at that dungeon. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And I ended the game without quite having reached 30th level, so there is a downside to avoiding "unnecessary" fights. (Then again, I did finish it, so the downside was not that big.)
