How do I use my steam key?

So I bought off the humble widget, they gave me a steam key. How do I use it to get the game on steam?

On steam, there is an item in the bottom left to "add a game". You click on that and select "Activate a Product on Steam". That brings up a dialog box where you type (or copy and paste) in the key.
