Tenderfoot Thahd Mark Belanger
Greetings all, I downloaded the Avernum: Escape From the Pit trial from the spiderwebsoftware.com website and proceeded to spend the next 5 hours playing the demo and levelling up my characters. Suffice it to say, I was hooked. So I popped into the App Store, bought the game and then went to bed. Today, I launched Avernum, tried to Load a Saved Game and found every slot empty. No! Checking in ~/Library/Application Support/Spiderweb Software/Avernum Saved Games, the first five slots have timestamps that are consistent with the time I saved the games. I thought that the perhaps bits purchased from the App Store were saved elsewhere, but I did a test save into Save19 and it appeared within the original folder, so I'm at a loss. Does Avernum keep some kind of index of the saved games elsewhere that needs to be updated? Help! Thanks, MB
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
From the Tech Support page the saved games are in different locations: Locating Your Macintosh Saved Games If you did not buy Avernum from the Mac App Store, your games are stored in the Application Support folder, which can be difficult to find. To open it, press Command-Shift-G to Go To Folder, enter "~/Library/Application Support/Spiderweb Software", and press return. Your saved games are in the folder "Avernum Saved Games." Open that folder and your saved games will be inside, in folders named 'Save0', 'Save1', etc. If you did buy Avernum from the Mac App Store, your games are stored in a special file container created by the operating system. To open it, press Command-Shift-G to Go To Folder, enter "~/Library/Containers/com.spiderwebsoftware.Avernum/Data/Library/Application Support/Spiderweb Software", and press return. Your saved games are in the folder "Avernum Saved Games." Open that folder and your saved games will be inside, in folders named 'Save0', 'Save1', etc. Welcome to Spierweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. You may want it back later. Mark Belanger
Tenderfoot Thahd Mark Belanger
That took care of it! Thanks, Randomizer. For those Terminal savvy, here's the commands to resolve the issue without involving the dreaded Finder: % cd ~/Library/Containers/com.spiderwebsoftware.Avernum/Data/Library/Application Support/Spiderweb Software % rm -rf Avernum Saved Games % mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/Spiderweb\ Software/Avernum\ Saved\ Games . Note: Ensure Avernum is *not* running prior to issuing these commands. -MB
