Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
I believe that I have the character editor essentially working on modern versions of Mac OS. What I need now is a couple of people to test it out for me, especially since I have no actual in progress games to try it on. So far I have found it to work on my Intel 10.5 system and PPC 10.4 system, and it will hopefully work on 10.3.9, so I could use a couple of people with different setups to try it out. (For anyone interested in the technicality: the app itself is PowerPC for now, but seems to work great under Rosetta. It also still uses Jeff's old bad event polling system and will eat your processor if give half a chance.)
Well-Actually War Trall Khoth
Did you change the delay parameter on WaitNextEvent?
Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
I have now actually, so that problem's fixed. The first time I tried nothing happened, because, as it turns out, the constant used was defined in three different places with two different values, and I'd only found one at that time. Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
I could probably test it.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
Hello? Why no reply?
Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
Sorry, sorry, things have been busy around here. Also, I'm not sure if I have an email address for you.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
There seems to be a problem with saving. It doesn't seem to work at all.
Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
You're right, it doesn't, although I thought it had at one point when I tested it. I shall investigate. EDIT: It was quite painful, but it should now be fixed. You can now save to a new file and also replace an existing file. I cannot describe how I hate FSSpecs. Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
Now I need to figure out how to find it again... it's not linked from your homepage anywhere.
Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
It's here. I guess I'll put a link to it on my links page, otherwise it doesn't really fit in anywhere on my site.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
A minor oddity – when you open a file and then save, the file dialog contains "untitled" as the name, rather than the name of the file.
Well-Actually War Trall Niemand
The reason for that is that the editor really only had a 'Save As' command which was mislabeled as 'Save'. I've just put up a new version with both 'Save' and 'Save As'. 'Save As' will show a save file dialogue with a default filename of untitled, while 'Save' will immediately write out the data to the same file it was loaded from, as one one would expect.
