In the end game text it may change what happens depending upon whether you want the Rebels or Avadon to win. This counts as one point towards which side has a better result. Magnificent Ornk Kelandon Posted March 22, 2014 Share Posted March 22, 2014 If you give the satchel to the scout, it decreases the "how much you've bothered the scout" counter by 1, and if you don't, it increases it by 2. In order to get the scout's affections, you need the counter to stay below 3. More details are available here. If you give the satchel to Odil/Protus, you get a minor reward (item/money). As far as I can tell, contrary to what Randomizer posted, it doesn't change the counter that affects the endgame text or your endgame options.
