Kyshakk Koan Valdain the King Posted January 5, 2014 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I want to solo Avernum 4 with a sword and bow wielding ranger. I will get at least some priest spells for healing and whatever. Besides that I will rely on my bow for range and sword for close up fighting. I am going to master in 3 skills Strength/Bows and hardiness. Does anyone know if I this build will work for soloing the game? Hatchling Cockatrice Slarzahl Posted January 5, 2014 Share Posted January 5, 2014 That should work on casual, but you're wasting skill points to specialize in both melee and ranged attacks. If you want to focus on physical attacks, I'd pick one or the other. The best singleton build probably focuses more on magic, and just uses the free bonuses from Nephil and Divinely Touched to use bows effectively. Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer Posted January 5, 2014 Share Posted January 5, 2014 Yes, as Slartibus said, go with either Bows or Swords but not both, that's a big waste of skill points, I would recommend bows, also it will be very useful to get enough mage levels to cast haste.
