GOG?

Are there plans on bringing the newest version of the Exile series (Avernum: Escape from the Pit, if it wasn't obvious what I meant) to GOG?

 

I get that it's a new version and thus not old, but there are games on GOG.com that are definitely not old.

 

I ask because I'm interested in the new version, but I generally prefer getting things on GOG rather than Steam.

Avadon and Avadon 2 are both available on GOG (as is the original, pre-EFTP, Avernum series), so Jeff Vogel is clearly aware of its existence. No idea whether he plans to put EFTP up on there, and if so what the holdup is: you'd have to shoot him an email personally and ask.

I prefer GoG to Steam myself, but there's always the option of buying directly from Spiderweb. The downside is you don't have a third-party library that you can download from again if you lose your copy. The upside is you get it right away, and Spiderweb is very, very good about making sure its customers have access to the games they've bought no matter how many years and how many losses of files and codes have passed.

 

—Alorael, who imagines the games will end up on GoG sooner rather than later. Jeff has embraced selling through third parties, and GoG, like Steam, is a pretty good way to get wider exposure.
