Seasoned Roamer Cala
I've been playing too much Geneforge lately, hoarding my cash for skills. I can't remember what I spent my money on in Avadon 1, but I don't remember paying skill trainers. What kinds of things do you guys save for? Lockpicks? The better potions/scrolls? Farms? Ineffable Wingbolt Superba
Retirement? I buy potions, titansteel weapons, skill train, houses, there's not much money left after this. springacres
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
I had about 9000 gold hoarded by the time I got to the first Tawon Empire mission, but then blew it all on charms and titansteel equipment, and still had things left to buy. I didn't buy very much up to that point, but did always buy lockpicks whenever I saw them, and usually runestones as well.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Lockpicks, charms, scarabs in Avadon, any potions/elixirs/scrolls for healing, speed, and battle, houses, deep runestones, and circle of fire scrolls. Seasoned Roamer coffeecat
Charms, scarabs and lockpicks make good gold sinks, as well as the useless houses you can buy.
Ineffable Wingbolt Superba
But I got a medal for my houses, ehehe. Not that I knew about a reward before buying them. However I own my personal ghosts and that's fine to me vadymmykh
Unflappable Drayk Indignus
I save money, I get most of the good stuff from the bosses on side quests. ---- -Nightwatcher
Kyshakk Koan eaintree
Honestly, I got sick of having 85 things in the junk bag in A1. When I want to buy something I Shift-D it. ĐªгŦĦ Єяŋϊε
Easygoing Eyebeast Triumph
Adding to this: Eumenia (a person in Tawon) sells blessings (small boosts various defense or damage percentages) for 2000 apiece, so that's another huge money sink. This is probably the best reason to save money, actually... that and potions/scrolls.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
I haven't bought any Titansteel weaps or any other steel/iron weaps since I have found same or better via travelling, same applies to armors and helmets (bought 1 Steel helmet to BW and soon found more those), blessings I bought and have spent fortune on Nicodemus's craftings, bought all lockpicks (~29 left) and bought few scarabs. Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
It bears noting that there are certain items available in shops that are arguably the best of their class. One can only get Shadowwalker's Boots from a shop, for instance. Titansteel equipment has the best base stats of anything in the game, though I usually prefer the bonuses one gets from other high level equipment. Shop around and you will find a few things that will stay with you right through the endgame.

Shadowwalker pants (orsumthinhliktat) are 1 of those things but haven't bought those yet since only in 2 mission I used her (personal quest and burnning papers) andmain-Tinker and BM use sword atm (1st uses Tinker sword and 2nd uses Tower sword). Sadly not much for Sorcerer or Tinker to be bought, something for Shaman but better are found (for example multiple shields which give bonus to healing but best staffs are 2hand staffs).
