Are there different party members?

I really liked the beginning of the game, and then I got stuck with Kalida and Yarrick (sp). I know this is a very minor thing for most people, but I have to have a party I actually like, and I highly dislike the to characters and have been assigned. Later in the game, will I be able to remove them from my party and get some different people?

Yes, you'll be able to bring other companions. I believe there are a total of five different characters who can join your party.

 

Whether you'll like any of them is open to question - the PCs in Ava1 seemed to be deliberately made as dislikable malcontents.

Really? The only Avadon 1 companion I outright disliked was Jenell. Hell, I might have even hated her. I quite liked the other three companions.

 

If they were ALL meant to be unlikable . . . Jeff might have done too good a job with Jenell. Because she, and damn near every other one of her countrymen encountered, did a really good job of making me develop a strong dislike of the Wyldrylm.

 

I haven't yet decided if Avadon 2 has managed to make me think better of that Pact nation.

You will get three more companions to choose from once you reach Avadon, for a total of five, one per class.

If you really can't stand them, then head straight for Avadon and come back later for the side quests. You can reach Avadon by level 4 even on torment difficulty if you are insane enough.
