Tenderfoot Thahd Visigoth
I'm wanting to buy the game directly from Spiderweb Software in an effort to be more supportive, but what was wondering if I can redeem the game on Steam after purchasing it here? I know it's silly, but I like acquiring the achievements on Steam. Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
My understanding is that Spiderweb is limited in its ability to hand out Steam keys to non-Steam purchasers: Steam doesn't give developers carte blanche to hand out free Steam keys for games purchased elsewhere, because then it's supporting the games with its servers without seeing a cut of the sales. If you want to give Spiderweb more money than the game costs on Steam but still want the game on Steam, why not just buy it on Steam and then buy another Spiderweb game on Steam as well? Spiderweb gets more money, and you get two games instead of one. Visigoth
Curious Artila Copernicus
No need to use Steam to acquire achievements! There's an entry in the main menu called "Medals" you can choose to see all your accomplishments, so you'll still get all the achievement categories whether you buy from Steam or not. It's possible that they want to be able to show off their achievements in their Steam profile so all their friends can see. Ah well, I guess that's true.

Spiderweb gets more money, and you get two games instead of one. That's unfortunate. Perhaps I'll just buy two copies and give the other one away, or to a friend. Thank you for the quick response, Lilith.
