Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted September 1, 2013 Share Posted September 1, 2013 First you need to be on the main level of Avadon to move the scarabs from inventory into one of the 4 scarab slots below the character portrait in the inventory screen. You get a new slot at character levels 1, 7, 14, and 21. Once you have scarabs in the scarab slots, some work automatically like +1 to a stat. Ones that don't work automatically can be used by typing "a" to bring up the ability screen. The scarabs are the bottom row of abilities and are picked with "u","v"."w", or "x".
