NamelessOne
I want to know what to shoot for with regards to this play through. Instead of going with all 3 endings like last time, I'll focus on 1 or maybe 2 of the endings. Does anyone have a shortest time to finish the game for 1 ending with regards to hours? I guess that would mean killing SsThsss and either Escape or Demon Grah Hoth. Seeing as I actually know the game a bit, I hope I can do it with the same amount of time invested in Avadon when I replayed it.
The Reverend
It will depend on difficulty level, but I think if you focus on just one ending (I'd go for Escape, personally, as I find it easiest to do at a bit lower level than the others), it might be doable in roughly the time it takes to do a really complete playthrough of Avadon. To be honest though, I've never bothered timing myself on any of these games, so I could be way off here ...
mouton
Escape required much more effort than i thought it would, really. Those grey giants and fights in the darkness were quite a slog.
The Reverend
The darkness is very annoying, and there are a lot of fights, but I found that none of them on its own was as tough as the Grah Hoth fight, so I think it might be doable at a slightly lower level. But I know others disagree and think Grah-Hoth is easier.
Randomizer
If you are only going to do the one ending then there isn't the need to hold back invulnerability potions/elixirs and other useful items.
The Reverend
Excellent point - I usually save up the invulnerability potions for the final room of Hawthorne's tower, but if you're not doing that, they could make either of the other two endings much easier! NamelessOne
Gotcha so Im going to take it that seeing as I know the game somewhat, doing 1 endquest will probably be the equivalent of finishing Avadon. Seeing as Im playing on normal and using a similar party from Avadon, I doubt that Hoth will be a problem.

The Reverend
Grath-Hoth is easy only because of the secret corridor thing. Fought straight it would be a nightmare. I heard about that tactic after my last playthrough, so I haven't tried it - but it does seem like it could make Grah Hoth the easiest of the three, from what I've heard. You enter the corridor, set up at its end and the enemies come one at a time. Straight battle would probably require invulnerability potions, like the Hawtorne insanity. Straight battle would probably require invulnerability potions, like the Hawtorne insanity. The straight battle is doable (even on torment) without invulnerability potions, as long as you concentrate on taking out each batch of summoned help as soon as it comes, and try to avoid hurting Grah Hoth too much until that batch is cleared out. The new batches of summoned help seem to be triggered by Grah Hoth reaching certain lower health thresholds. It's not easy, and takes a while, but it is possible. Energy potions/elixers can be helpful.
Randomizer
Summons are scripted to Grah-Hoth's health and avoid killing the first two groups because they are too weak to hurt you and mostly can' even hit you. The later groups are much worse and one group can heal the others.
