CarbonPot
Hey, I've completed the nephilim fortress quest and received the singing rapier, but as far as I can tell it's inferior to the bronze broadswords I already have. The damage of the rapier is the same as the broadswords but it doesn't have a cleave attack or +5% to hit chance. The effective bonuses from the skill bonuses seem to be -10% fatigue length, +3% to hit and +1% damage. Despite this, from what I can gather from the internet it's one of the best weapons in the game. Is there some hidden stat I'm missing? Is it worth using at all? cbecker78
I am not completely sure, but I think that damage changes depending on which character is holding the weapon (because damage is related to skills and strength for a sword). So if you look at it in one character's bag, you cannot compare directly to damage for another PC unless they have the exact same build. You might also notice that you cannot hold a broadsword in your off-hand (it is too heavy). The singing rapier can be off-handed for a dual sword weilder if I remember right. Dual weilding can make it very hard to hit things though... I seem to recall it being one of the better 2nd hand weapons for a swordsman untill much later in the game. Randomizer
You use the best weapon you have at the time. Fatigue reduction lets you use battle disciplines sooner and for each item with that bonus you get that chance to recover more fatigue so with several items you can get 2 or 3 fatigue reduction instead of the normal 1. Most players use the weapon that has the most damage for fighters. For mages and priest they use weapons that have defensive bonuses or some other advantage like fatigue reduction since they will be using spells most of the time to do damage. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. Otherwise trying to make sense of the weapon bonuses will cause you to lose your sanity so you will never find it again. Don't get me started about trying to use weapon value.
Death Knight
Usually swords are about max damage but if you use polearms, halberds are quite lethal with 20% to cleave. They deal crazy minimum damage and the cleave really has a decent chance to hit 1 out of 5. Im only lvl 21 and I am not far behind my previous sword fighter from another playthrough.
