reality paroxysm
Or what's the easiest way to view the guts of the game files? I'm also looking for the ones from Avernum 6. I want to include a dragon in my D&D game, but I suck at roleplaying these "bigger than you and doesn't take your crap" characters, and I remember being utterly floored by the way Jeff wrote Melanchion and Zephyrine when I played through these games. I'd love to be able to reread their dialogue.
Lilith
The good news is that all the game's dialogue is stored as text files in the Scripts folder within the game folder, so it's easy to access. The bad news is that each map area has a separate script file, so you may have to poke around in there a bit to find the exact ones you want, unless someone else here remembers which ones they are offhand. Randomizer
dlg.txt files have the conversation text, but the words that appear next to NPCs are stored in the other .txt file.
