Question about spell/skill levels

Hello forum,

first of all nice to meet you.

I'm new and this is my first game from SpiderWeb.

I have to admit: I have moment of pure fun followed by bore or frustration with this game. Usually it's when I lost my control and I lose fights. But then, when I really use my brain and follow some tactics every fight is a nice challenge.

I have a few doubts how the levels of single spells (passives) work.

For example: socereress' Ward Mastery say:

"Give 3%/level to physical resistance".

Is this mean it give 3% PER level? In my last level up I cared about my armor and it didn't change from the previous level.

Does it mean something else?

Thank you for your time.

It means 3% per skill level. In other words, the more skill points you put into it, the better the effect.

Really, when you think about it, "level" is a pretty overloaded term in RPGs. One of the early editions of D&D had a sidebar explaining the five different definitions of "level" the game used.

Thank you Jerakeen for clarification. It makes more sense.

I don't understand why 99% of the RPG games do not use a recapitulatory label telling which effect are active and how strong they are (a good one I've seen is in Sacred).

Avadon actually does provide this. Your active status conditions are shown as little icons near your character portrait, and you can mouse over them to see their effects and their remaining duration.
