Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Okay, so as elaborated in the earlier thread, I'm organizing a chess tournament. If you're interested, say so below. I'm going to limit this to ten persons, or whoever signs up in the next couple days. We'll be doing all the matches at chess.calref.net. If you don't have an account you'll need to make one (It's pretty straightforward and doesn't require clicking links in email or any of that crap). In addition, it's handy to have a real-time aspect as well, so entrants are encouraged to hang out in the calref chat while playing (registration not required there, but recommended). Note: Upon registering, the webchess will ask for your first and last name, and won't let you leave it blank. If you are uncomfortable doing this, just put your username twice or something. It's not really needed and is a chess etiquette thing, I guess. Anywho, the tournament is going to be a double round-robin. Each player will play every other player twice, once as white and once as black. We'll shoot for getting two rounds a week done, but this can go slower or faster as time allows. The grand prize is, uh, being the best or something. Also I'll draw you a pony or something (this isn't really a prize, i have no artistic skills). So yeah and stuff. Easygoing Eyebeast Goldengirl
I'm in, same username. Sylae, will you be matching people up to play, or...?
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Yes, once we get enough people I'll set up the matches for each round. I'm also playing, but as I am also setting it all up it would be assy to play For The Glory or whatever, so...yeah.
Magnificent Ornk Aran
As I said in the other thread, I'd love to participate but am working for the rest of the month. Have to hand in my bachelor thesis soon. (In fact, I'm about to go offline entirely). I don't know the time schedule of this tournament, but if it goes on for a while, then it might be possible to match up some late entrants and have them make up the pace with more frequent games later. Easygoing Eyebeast keira
That'd certainly be a possibility, yeah. If anyone wants to do that, I'd be down with it.

Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Okie-day. I currently have the following people signed up: - Sylae - Tyra - BMA - Goldenking - Aeschere - Aran - Mosquito I also noted that Nalyd, Trenton, and The Reverend expressed interest in the other thread. If they want in for sure they should say so here, otherwise those slots are free for the taking. With regards to the busyfolk (Currently Aran and Mosquito), I'll just list them in the rounds as normal, but if all the other games in a round are done we'll just move on, and they can make those games up once their schedule is freeer (freer? free-er? more free?). Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Mosquito accidentally moved his queen to a, um, strategically not supreme spot and hit the "request undo" button. Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
strategically not supreme spot That's a very polite way to describe it, I actually ended up moving it to a spot diagonally adjacent to her bishop . Let's just not have this thread turn into a thread about a particular member's gender (or anybody's gender, for that matter, since it's really not important or relevant to the topic at hand)? I really don't think we need to carry on discussing this. (And, I'd like to note that I'm not speaking as a moderator here, but as a regular member.)
