Kyshakk Koan RaustBlackDragon
So I've been playing Geneforge 1, and I recently encountered those accursed areas that constantly inflict damage to your party. I'll be perfectly honest, I despise these areas, they're incredibly annoying, in large part because of the slow pace you have to go through them at, moving each character one at a time so you can heal yourself fast enough. Do they return in Geneforge 2? I hope not, but if they do, are they as annoying as the Geneforge 1 incarnations?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think all the games have some variation of that with a dangerous atmosphere due to poisonous chemicals or cold. It's really only a pain if you have creations that you want to take with you. Most of these places are optional.
Garrulous Glaahk The Reincarnated Baron von Steuben
POWERCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe Power Core, as Randomizer said, is completely optional to explore.
Articulate Vlish Tridon
I know it's all taste and preferences, but I really have to agree with RaustBlackDragon on this one. Those maps were highly annoying and mostly worked as a demotivator. Luckily the rest of Geneforge was great, so these flaws could be ignored somewhat. =)
Kyshakk Koan RaustBlackDragon
Actually they don't seem like they're going to be quite so bad in Geneforge 2 as they were in Geneforge 1, mostly because mass-healing spells are available much sooner, can be used in-battle, and are more effective, so stopping to heal the party is actually viable. Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
It's a GAME. It's supposed to have CHALLENGES.
Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
It's a GAME. It's supposed to have CHALLENGES. The problem isn't really that it's challenging, It's just annoying.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
There are challenges and there are challenges. A good challenge is still fun. A bad one is aggravating, annoying, or tedious. The constant-damage areas were, I think, in the second category.
Ineffable Wingbolt Upon Mars.
The Power core although optional, like the arena for example, is a place where you learn a bit more about the serviles and the madness of the Shapers working on the isle. You can also get some nice items.
