I've encountered a field of pylons that haven't been activated by the enemy yet, and the text tells me to destroy them. What looks like a lightning bolt or dagger on my screen is a list of the mage spells of that character. When I click the lighting/dagger icon on the right side of the screen and then try to attack the pylon, the text keeps saying I can't talk during combat mode or, my personal favorite, it can't talk to you because it's just a magical construct.
