Tenderfoot Thahd Roberto
Hello! New to the site, the company and their games ... I have tried a couple of them and I was hooked so I bought all the games. One of them is BOA and for it I donwloaded many scenarios ... mostly from the Official Blades of Avernum Scenario Pages maintained by Spiderweb Software. Many of them work but some don't work on my PC ... I'm able to read the initial story screens but when the game try to load the main game screen it freezes; one of the scenario that doesn't work is A PERFECT FOREST for example. Windows VISTA 32 BITS, 4GB RAM, video card NVIDA GEFORCE GT240 with the latest drivers. Please note that ALL the other games (GENEFORGE, AVERNUM, AVADON, NETHERGATE) old or new work without flaws. It is only a BOA scenario problem ... BTW the 4 scenarios that come with the game run perfectly. Any advice? Thanks in advance! Easygoing Eyebeast keira
Just to verify, you are using the Windows versions and not the Mac versions, yes? Have you tried using Compatibility Mode? Also, you may want to try downloading scenarios from this site or this site rather than from the SW site, which isn't that maintained. You solved my problem ... thanks! At first I downloaded the scenario A PERFECT FOREST (just to try with it) from both the sites you told me, but the result was always the same ... the game freezes. So, as for your advice, I tried the scenario but this time setting the BOA exe compatibility for WINDOWS XP and it worked! So I tried my original copy of the same scenario and it worked too. Thanks!
