Avernum 6 save file: All containers have no items

A storm shut my computer off while I was playing. When I came back, I thought everything was fine - however, I eventually noticed that no containers in the game had any items in them anymore. Things like chests, drawers, pots, etc. I think it's a problem with my save file, because new games don't have this problem.

I already tried replacing the "Items" file with one from a new game, but that didn't fix it - so I'm guessing the problem is in the "Data" file?

Here's a link to my save file: http://tyroie.dyndns.org/read%20only/others/Save1.zip

Thanks!

If new games don't have this problem, there is nothing wrong with the game data files. The problem is your save file itself. Shutting down the computer unexpectedly can cause data corruption to active files, and it looks like that's exactly what happened to your save file. Unless you have a backup, you will unfortunately have to start a new game.

I think Tyroie is referring to the fact that SW saved games seem to be made up of four different files; "Items", "Data", "Header", and "Journal". I would assume that yeah, something is screwy in "Data" or "Header".

Unfortunately, I have no idea what to suggest to fix them (and replacing part of your save with another probably isn't going to work). That said, you should be able to start from the "Autosave", assuming it's from before the storm, and hopefully you won't have to replay more than a few minutes.
