Fledgling Fyora Bob7k
Ive been having this problem since playing this fine game at a friends house, neither of us were able to close doors to make stealing items easier. I tried searching the help files and forums for info, but nobody else seemed to have this problem, are doors in avernum open only?

Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
ipad etc tablet players can't close doors so that's why doors can't be closed on any playform (that's official reason, unofficial is that Jeff wants to lower our stealings). Fledgling Fyora Bob7k
This seems more like a design oversight than anything, could you close the doors on the earlier titles in the series?

A:EftP is the first game in its series. Previous games by Spiderweb Software did allow doors to be closed, but with the exception of Avadon, they weren't designed for the iPad. Dikiyoba. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It's a holder over from Avadon complaints. You can still steal, it just takes longer for the owners to move away.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
and some owners/citizens won't move out of sight.

Of course, as Jerakeen pointed out in another thread, some owners/citizens are neutral too, so you can go ahead and rob them. Just save before stealing, and look out for the "your crime was seen!" message.
Unflappable Drayk ĐªгŦĦ Єяŋϊε
i noticed that if you send loot straight to the junk bag it skips the message about whether or not your crime has been seen. i wonder if that would allow you to steal with impunity as long as you ctr-click it
Kyshakk Koan Skwish-E
Test it and see. Then let us know.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
easy way to test is at Fort Avernum or Fort Duvno.
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
No, it doesn't let you steal with impunity. It just gives you the thrill of not knowing whether you've been seen.
