Tenderfoot Thahd JMR
does anyone know where to find any of these items? the mace of disruption, the adamantite axe, the boltblade, or the shield mace. your help would be appreciated. thanks
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I pretty sure the shield mace was in the bandit lair northeast of Fort Emergence in their storeroom in the northeast corner. It's been a long time since I played but I remember the boltblade is found fairly early in the game. This FAQ listed the locations of some items, but you will have to read through it. It did confirm that the shield mace was where I thought it was. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. It will be easier to find after losing it looking for these items. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
The mace of disruption and the adamantite axe cannot be found in the game. The only way to get them is through the editor. —Alorael, who isn't sure about the boltblade either way. He can't remember finding it, but now it's been over a decade since he last played E3. Rotghroth Rhapsody Prince of Kitties
IIRC Boltblade was in Motrax's hoard in E1. Maybe it's still there in E3?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Now we're going back even farther, but Scrioth is in Motrax's hoard in E1, and I don't think there were two magic swords in there. More pertinently, Motrax is dead and his lair not included in the area of E3 anyway, so if that's where the boltblade is it's still only accessible by editor. —Alorael, who has a special place in his heart for Scrioth. It's his very first Exile artifact. It may, for all he can remember, be the first non-plot artifact he acquired in any computer game. Hatchling Cockatrice Slawbug
The Boltblade definitely did not exist in E1 or E2, so I imagine it is in E3 somewhere. I *hated* Scrioth. It was such a flipping let-down. As a weapon, it was a huge disappointment, with its low bonus -- maybe it was even a bonus of zero, making it as bad as a Stone Greatsword? And its usable ability sucked (it cast Flame, worth a whopping 2 SP), and couldn't be recharged, and could only be used I think 10 times. Rotghroth Rhapsody Prince of Kitties
You're right, I was thinking Scrioth, not Boltblade. N/M.

Well-Actually War Trall Harehunter
I have got to get back to my survey team one of these days. They've been stuck the Zkal's Tower far too long.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Thaluikhain
IIRC, Boltblade was in one of the giant's caves, I think, or maybe somewhere around that area.
Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
Zkal's tower is on the island south of Gale, right?
Well-Actually War Trall Harehunter
Exactly. I'm going to try to get it posted this weekend.
Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
Zkal is the litch or the vampire?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Zkal's more a lich as defined by D&D nomeclature as an undead mage. I can't remember the graphic used.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Zkal is the lich of note in E3. Vahkos is the vampire of note. —Alorael, who wonders what happened to vampires. They really stopped appearing after A3, didn't they?

Hatchling Cockatrice Slawbug
No Geneforge style graphic.
Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
If my memory serves correct, it is Vahkos's tower south of gale. Zkal the last-to-remember-a-language-litch is inbetween the mountains and river to the east of the giants mountain range. Right?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Zkal is the tower at the south end of the island directly south of Gale. Vahkos is more south southwest of Gale between the mountains and the sea.
Easygoing Eyebeast Trenton.
But I remember it had to be Vhakos on the island. Because, when you buy the boat in gale, and sale over to the town on the island, it was broken down and there were undead wandering around. You had to kill a few 10-health-point skeletons and walk out of town. There were plenty more undead walking through the swamps. Am I mistaken and can that all be Zkals? IT HAD TO BE VHAKOS! Remember the curse you get there? That annoying curse he puts on you if you didn't chalange him? I swear, if we go back in the topics, and find one about getting rid of the curse, it will say, "The curse from Vhakos's temple on the island south of gale." Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
No, you definitely have them mixed up. Vahkohs is the vampire in the mountains in Karnold Province. Zkal is the lich on Maddock Island, south of Gale. His tower has all those traps, and your spell points are drained, but it's where you get the ring of magery. Well-Actually War Trall Harehunter
I've gotten some new maps on my Exile III page. I haven't done all the markups, but at least as far as the entire southern 1/3 of Valorim has maps of the outdoors area and the towns that are in them.
