swong
Has anybody managed to get all the steam achievements? Is it possible to get them all in one playthrough? Or does it only count within a single playthrough? (ie you can't find 20 caches each in 2 different games) The only thing left for me to do is kill the emperor now, and I only have 2 achievements left outstanding: -Find 40 Caches -Make 50 Potions Just created 25 curing potions with all the herbs I've saved through the game, (unfortunately I wasted some healing herbs earlier in the game by making other random potions, not sure how many) Is it possible to make 25 more potions? I've also roughly checked off every cache from the cache thread and made sure I had them. So I either miscounted, or this achievement is bugged. Cheers! Lilith
You need to find all 40 caches in a single playthrough to get the cache achievement; I'm pretty sure the others work the same way. And yes, it's possible to make an arbitrarily large number of potions. Each kind of herb has at least one patch that regenerates over time. Caribou16
I received the 5 cache achievement the other day, on easily my 10th cache, so there may be a bug. Either way, it is much more fun to play the game for the game and let the achievements come when they come.
Juan Carlo
I just finished a torment playthrough and got all the achievements except for the "40 caches" one. I have 36 caches I just found on my own from playing the game, but I don't know if I'm going to bother hunting down the other 4 (even with the list of all the caches on this forum, I think it'd be too tedious since I don't know which ones I don't have--unless there's some way to tell which one's you have and havenot found). Plus, I could be wrong, but I almost think that with potions the game just keeps track of how many you make total. So you could save before entering an alchemist's, make 25 potions, reload, then make another 25 from the same ingedients and it will unlock the achievement. I could be wrong, but the acheievment unlocked for me even though I'm pretty sure I didn't make anywhere close to 50 potions. In fact, when I finished the game the stats said I had made 100 potions total and I'm pretty sure I didn't have any where near the ingredients to make that many (I was desperate for energy elixirs by the end of my playthrough). Timmy, Power Gamer
I got the 5 cache on my 10th as well. I have all of the achievements unlocked save captain and commander (beat game on hard and torment). I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that beating everything on torment in one play-through can unlock everything, but that would be an absolute nightmare. I made a lot of building mistakes on my characters. I tried to replicate my dual-wielding dodge-tank in A6, picking up Riposte if I do get hit. What that meant was the my tank could be glass-cannon, wear cloth, and never get hit to need armor. That's how I played this game. I WANT MY HOURS OF PAIN AND TORTURE BACK. But seriously, it can be done, but you would have to read the min-max guide before hand or you might make terrible, terrible mistakes. And it's no fun to spoil the difficulty for yourself, either. The only spoiler I used in my 100% unlock normal mode run was to find the 40th supply cache (sneaky Jeff).
swong
Thanks guys. I just discovered the Ward, Captain and Commander achievements existed... for some reason, even though I don't have those, it didn't show up for me as ones I didn't have on the personal achievements steam page. This is a good game, but I don't think I'll bother playing it again on the harder difficulties just to get 100% achievements... especially since there only seems to be one main ending (Unless you count the one where you abandon Avernum and stay on the surface lol). I'll go and kill the emperor now.
