Tenderfoot Thahd Zaraf Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 Ok so I've encountered these pink cube barriers that I can't get past. Anyone know how to get rid of them? In the Crypt of Drath, I just can't figure out what to do. I've reached the second floor (where the lake is) and I've explored most of the floor. But I can't open the gate that goes to the dock and boat. Also, in the northwest corner where you read the book and demons show up, I can't get past the pink cube barriers there either. Various maps I've found on the internet all show levers to open the gate at the northeast corner, but the gate there is closed for me and I don't know what set of stairs go down to there. I used the northeast stairs going down on floor 1 and ended up next to the two levers on floor 2 (southeast part of the map). Help is much appreciated! Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 The barriers require a level-3 Dispel Barrier spell. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 The magical barriers to get through to the third level only need level 2 dispel barrier or piercing crystals. Once you get past the barrier in the northwest you get to the lever for the boat gate. Now level 3 is a different problem when you are in the dark. There are some lower-level barriers that you need to dispel in order to get through the dungeon, and then some extra level-3 ones that lead to treasure. Must have missed it. Also, I've searched for hidden switches and there is nothing Although I can't find this one secret passage which can apparently only be opened from the north? http://www.nat20s.com/Avernum/Avernum%20...yptOfDrath.html According to this map, the top right exit on floor 1 (Down to Exit A) leads to the top right on floor 2 (Up to Exit A). However, when I go down the stairs (Down to Exit A), I end up at the stairs near the lake (Up to Exit . As a result, I can't open any switches that are behind the gate at the upper area (turn wheel to open gate, also opens south gate). As a result, my South Gate is still closed and I can't reach the boat. EDIT: I took some additional screenshots to help show where I am at. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted April 16, 2012 Share Posted April 16, 2012 The level 1 stairs in the northeast lead to the 2 levers on level 2 in the southeast. One opens the gate to the north and the other opens the gate in the northwest. Past the northwest gate is a magical barrier (level 1 dispel barrier or piercing crystal) some demons and lever to open boat gate in southeast. You can learn the spell dispel barrier from Maiwen in Fort Dranlon after you do her quest or there is a spell book just west of Fort Remote and then head south and east. You can find or buy a piercing crystal since you only need one to find Drath. If you crossed the bridge on level one you fall down to the northeast corner of level 2 and there are stairs back up and a gate to most of level 2.
