Easygoing Eyebeast Enraged Slith
Any script can only contain 750 strings, which is just fine and dandy until you're already stretched for talk nodes in a single dialogue script. I still have a few good conversations to finish up, and I thought I was going to just squeak by with the node count, when all of a sudden the script stops working because I've stuck too many strings in it. WHY THE ARBITRARY LIMITS!?!?! WHY DOES THIS GAME KEEP THROWING OBNOXIOUS WRENCHES INTO MY PROGRESS, REQUIRING ANNOYING WORK-AROUNDS!? Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
BECAUSE JEFF VOGEL IS A MALEVOLENT BEING OF DARK ENERGY THAT FEEDS OFF THE TEARS OF SCENARIO DESIGNERS. Every time someone runs into the 254-character string limit, or triggers the infinite loop 'detection' code, he gets a little stronger. Soon, very soon, he will gather enough power and ascend into a being of pure sorrow, and will create his final game. Avernum 7: Rentar Gets Glued Back Together.
