Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
As I write this, I'm facing the big bad demon in the tower of magi. I got him to half health, and then he placed a death curse on me. I checked the buffs and debuffs area to see which char was the unlucky one, but I didn't see anything. Then I happened to scroll over a shade I had summoned. It got the death curse. So it seems that your summons have a chance of taking the death curse for you. From now on, I'm going to be using summons a lot more on big fights, since I haven't really used them that much. Is this supposed to happen? Or is it just a bug? Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
It's probably a bug, but it's a pretty excellent bug.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I don't think Jeff considered it when placing curses. In Avernum 5 in the Lake of Trials you could place summoned shades near the boss monster and it would place curses on them that were harmless to them. In Avadon my shadowwalker decoys got repeatedly charmed by foes which had no effect.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Kreador
That happened in one of my fights with Adze-Haakai, as well. Poor summoned ogre struck dead.
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Your pets are unlikely to be in the protective circles with you, so they don't get enlightened. Hence they get the death curse and you don't.
