Burgeoning Battle Gamma Parakeet Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 I did 2 out of 3 of the Original Quests & was set to the Portal. I got killed a lot there. Frustrated, I peered in the hint book to find out what I was supposed to do. I have a knack for zigging when everyone else zags with unfortunate results. I tried doing as the hint indicated, but the gate I was supposed to leave through was always down. Dying all the time is boring. Am I trying to do the Portal too early? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted January 12, 2012 Share Posted January 12, 2012 Depending upon how many side quests you did and the difficulty you may be too low. There's nothing wrong with trying this later when you have another level or two. Beta testers didn't get past Almaria until they had killed everything in the demo area so they were at the maximum possible when they reach the Portal quest. You need to survive for a few rounds after the demons start appearing. When you are told to flee, you should be able to exit with the gate closed. Keep healed up, use summoned creatures to absorb damage, and concentrate damage on the nearest demons to protect yourself. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
