A-EftP - Effects of level 2 or 3 spells?

Has anyone created a list of how spells get better at the second and third levels? I'm getting to a point pretty late in the game, I've blown a lot of gold on trainers, and I want to be really choosy about which spells I buy.

 

On an unrelated note, is the Raise Dead spell any use in this game? I've never bothered to train in it because I assume works like in A6 where you could only cast it out of combat (when I could just as easily return to a friendly town). Is that the same?
