Lord_Shaper
Hello, I am on my second playthrough of the game, but my first as a rebel. After joining and giving up upon Astoria and Litalia (Ghaldring promises power, not shapelessness and weakness), I have taken Ghaldrings quest to kill shapers. I am a level 34 shock trooper with a leadership/mechanics build, but with high strength and intelligent, nd passable shaping (I can make all creations except grade 1's, including firebolts and cryrodrayks. What order (and how) do I kill the shapers? I know that Alwan can be poisoned (and have the poison), I have got the sevant mind to give me control over Rawals defences, and found the secret entrance to Haia Kell , but not killed anyone. I do not know Taygen's weakness yet. What now?
Micawber
Just kill first whoever you hate the most (for me that was Rawal). But bear in mind that after you kill the first councillor, all the shaper towns will go hostile, so finish off all other quests first, get whatever training you need, etc. The councillors themselves all have some gimmick (like pylons or summons) but they are eminently killable. I did most of them in using acid shower/corrupting baton; that was without creations, I think it would be even easier with creations. Randomizer
Taygen's weakness is that a high leadership character starting there can convert his creations to the west to switch sides. Because all Shaper towns become hostile after the first death, some options aren't available to kill the others. What's funny is watching the immovable Alwan suddenly teleport next to you to melee. Lord_Shaper
Just to be clear : I can order taygens creations to aid me/ not attack me, then go kill Alwan/Astroria/Rawal, and then when I go to kill taygen they will still aid me? Lord_Shaper
(Sorry for double post) I fought taygen out of the oasis (having now killed Alwan and Rawal), and he fled to Kayars spire. Now how do I kill him - does he have more creations i can persuade?
Randomizer
You have to do it the hard way. However depending upon what you did the last time you were here, Taygen may be the only left alive in there.
Lord Pip
In the mines above Kayar's Spire, there are some serviles you can persuade to assist you in removing Taygen.

"above" the spire - which bit? Do you mean they are in the entrance zone, or in the north part of the main spire, or that they are in the cells? Randomizer
The serviles are in a north cell in the zone north of Kayar's Spire.
Ceiling Durkheim
They're in the zone "Kayar's Spire Cells."
Lord_Shaper
Thanks guys! I will let you know when he is dead - because then I will need help with Astoria.
A less presumptuous name.
As I remember, you can still sabotage Astoria's equipment. When I killed the shapers, I had started with Alwan. After going straight to Astoria's zone, I fought the patrols, sabotaged her equipment, and she died after a round.
Lord_Shaper
Ok I killed taygen, and reached astoria. However, despite my sabotage(lowered power to minimum, and used a living tool on one of the machines), the pylons charged, and blew me to pieces. what should I do instead. Randomizer
Not stand so close to them when they go off. I know I did it, but can't remember what I did.
A less presumptuous name.
If you have high enough mechanics, you can sabotage her pylon network so that they blow up in her face.
Lord_Shaper
At which point?
A less presumptuous name.
Prior to challenging Astoria, you have to sneak, as I recall, back behind all of the heat pads you see in her zone. There should be a small area with controls. It looks like you found this area, since you said you lowered the power levels. I don't have the scripts on this computer, but with high enough mechanics, you gain the option to sabotage her machinery completely.
Lord_Shaper
Thanks guys, I figured it out. You have to use living tools to disable each bit of the machinery along the cable lines, then set power to maximum to cause them to blow up. Alternatively, you can just set power to minimum without disabling anything, but this merely reduces the effects they cause, rather than stopping them working (and then blowing up). Victory for the rebels - now to go help taygen. Does the disease kill you if you play as a servile?
Ceiling Durkheim
No. The ending says you've been so heavily reshaped that while the disease makes you sick for a time, it's not fatal.
Trenton.
just like the power core of ghaldrings or the power core of stoneworks, they would have incinerated a normal person instantly. But your not normal. Your modified
