Ineffable Wingbolt Arch-Mage Solberg
T minus 1 hour and 35 minutes until it is officially Halloween. I've got a pretty good costume lined up. I'm taking my neices and nephews out Trick or Treating tomorrow. Why let them have all of the fun dressing up? I'll take some pics of me wearing the costume and post them on my Facebook page. Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
I'm going to be working on Halloween. It's our busiest day of the year by far, so it'll be pretty hectic. My manager is encouraging us to wear costumes (within reason), but I'm not planning on dressing up. On Halloween, for me, the mask comes off. Easygoing Eyebeast Enraged Slith
I have to get up at 4am on Tuesday... I don't think they'd appreciate costumes where I'm headed. I hope the rest of you have a wonderful Halloween.
Understated Ur-Drakon Callie
I am going to be studying, but that's okay: I don't like costumes.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
halloween isn't really A Thing here but tomorrow i'm going to a barbecue in celebration of some horse race that we probably won't even be watching
Unflappable Drayk Nicothodes
I have no costume, but I get to meet one of my favourite musicians. Does that count?

Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Not a rock? Charles Schultz decided in the television special, It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, that Charlie Brown would get three rocks in retaliation for the producers complaining about the first rock. Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
A box of chocolates, Lilith? That's a tad extreme; usually one chocolate will do.
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
I'm working, and I wouldn't dress up even if we were supposed to. The plus is, since I'll be out, any trick or treaters that manage to work out which doorbell is mine will be ignored, since nobody will be home. Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
1. Turn off all outdoor lights. 2. Save all candy for self. 3. ??? 4. Die cold, alone, and unloved. (5. But cold, alone, and unloved with chocolate. Profit!)
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
@Nikki: Do kids go trick-or-treating over there? I thought it was strictly a North American custom. And it's pretty much dying out over here, in favour of heavily supervised Hallowe'en parties. For some reason, parents nowadays are uneasy about the idea of letting their little kids run wild through the streets at night.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
There are still some areas where trick-or-treating is common, and I've seen kids from other neighborhoods show up and spend all their time there because it's a Halloweeny neighborhood. Others are empty. Even when the kids are running around, though, there's usually adult supervision. Not a bad thing, unless you miss the trick part. —Alorael, who has neither costume nor candy. It's traditional to walk up to the door, you see, and he has a different greeting prepared for the perambulatory.
Well-Actually War Trall Rowen
I use to go house to house when I was a kid. In the area that I lived the mall also set up a huge store to store trick-o-treating in the safety of the mall itself. And then many other religious groups would have trunk-o-treating with their members in the churches parking lot. And the hospital provided free x-ray scanning of all candy that was brought to them that night. Oh, and it was normal to have to wear snow clothes over your Halloween costume. Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
I, along with four other people in my office, was Steve Jobs. My costume was better than theirs, though- they all came up with it independently, whereas I ripped it off of people more creative and/or talented than me and took all the credit for myself. Method acting FTW.

In my area, the stores make a big deal of it, and a fair amount of kids go around. I'm much more familiar with it as fancy-dress parties than trick-or-treating, though. Of course, like you said, Australia is too mature for Halloween.
