Spddin Ignis
At this point, I owe my life as it is to the Geneforge games... When I first started playing them years ago, they kinda sorta got me interested in genetics. At this point, many years later, I'm in my final year of high school, interning at a stem cell lab at Georgia Institute of Technology, and I absolutely regret none of those hours I spent playing these games when I could've been doing something that other people would've thought more productive... SO... Thank you
The Ratt
Congratulations. Not many high schoolers have an opportunity like you do; don't waste it. I personally would email this story to Jeff, I think it would give him the warm fuzzies.
Mistb0rn
Heh, I was just thinking earlier today that I hadn't seen you posting in a while. Welcome back, and congratulations on the internship! :-D
Spddin Ignis
Glad to be back =) I found Geneforge on my external hard drive and just loaded it up again, figured I'd come back to my roots =)
Sudanna
That is the exact same way that my career ambitions have been decided.
Emmisary of Immanence
Sadly, no amount of genetic tinkering will give you a fire-breathing velociraptor. But still, good to know you've been inspired to go take a look at the fascinating world of real biology with real genetic manipulation of real stem cells! —Alorael, who supposes it would be difficult to practice fake genetic manipulation of real stem cells. Or at least embarrassing when you have to retract the papers.
Nicothodes
Now I feel more pathetic in thinking "I'm so glad I found SW games because otherwise I wouldn't know any of my friends." I really should have continued on the history kick Nethergate put me on.
