I read a post on this forum about stealing stuff marked with NY and I'm wondering what happens if I take things (Not only NY, but normal items in his chambers) from people like redbeard? If anyone's watching, you just won't be able to take the item in the first place. There are one or two areas where breaking into someone's room and stealing their stuff means they won't be friendly to you afterwards, but you'll generally get a warning in advance if you talk to them (along the lines of "hey, don't break into my room and steal my stuff").
