Nagumo
Hello everybody, Nathalie the sorceress has the ability to cast a firebolt, but the ability to cast it in combat isn't their?! She only has a staff to cast firebolt. So first question is: Is the description of the ability firebolt wrong? The button who looks like the firebolt ability is disabled and description is supposed to be the Icy Lance, which you get with a skilllevel of 6. So second question is: Will the higher chance of crits (which you get with a skilllevel of 3) work either with the firebolt attack from the staff? BTW: Bought the game yesterday, and so far imo it is a little jewel of game experience
nikki.
There's been a bit of confusion over this before. Firebolt is a Sorceresses' default attack - you can't actually have her cast it in combat, but any melee attacks you make will always use that spell. When you get firebolt to level 6, as you noted, you'll be able to cast Icy Lance in combat, but you will always, always, always cast firebolt as your default attack. Also, welcome to the boards. Hope you stick around.
Skwish-E
Fireball can only be cast if she is holding a staff or rod. It does get the advantages of increased critical hits, and it has no cooldown period, meaning yoiu can cast it as often as you have the action points to do so. Icy Lance can be used from the Use Ability button, and it does have a cooldown period.

Nagumo
Thx answering so quick. I have another question, but don't want to begin a new thread (I have a buuton on the back of my car: STOP SPAMMING FORUMS OF THE WORLD ^^) I found several sheets of paper ingame and pen and ink too. So i ask myself: Is there a way to write down skills at the sheets? It would be a nice feature, but sadly their is no interact window for such things? Or is it later implented in Avadon, perhaps through a NPC (Alchemist for example) or could i just left the sheets on the ground, cause they are doing nothing? Dikiyoba
You can just leave the paper and ink alone. As a general rule, if an item doesn't have a value or a use button, it's worthless. Dikiyoba.

You can leave paper and ink alone. (Also, FYT, Randomizer)

Lilith
Yeah, the only times you need to hold onto an item in Avadon is if the item description specifically says something along the lines of "somebody could probably make some cool stuff out of this". Nagumo
Thx again, and another question occurs while playing: I found a Student's Robe which gives plus 1 to the skill "Magical Mastery". Sadly the game doesn't show the plus 1 at skilltree, like it do when you take one of the specializations at level 5. Now i ask myself does the bonus from the robe counts, if 1. The Charakter has not that skill trained so far? 2. The Charakter has that skill already on level 7? (here same question in combination with the three specializations?) 3. Does a skill like firebolt get the crit bonus at skilllevel 3, if it is for example trained to level 1, get a plus 1 through specialization and another plus 1 with a magic item? Nevertheless, is their anywhere in the Forum/Internet a thread who answers such little questions? Serching but found nothing......
Punctuation rains from the heavens
Bonus skills from items do show up, but in a different corner of the skill tree icon. At least, they do on the regular mac version. Also, the answer to all of your questions is yes.
Lilith
The bonus does still count in all those cases. You can see this more clearly with bonuses to active skills: for example, the shaman gets a piece of equipment with a bonus to Earthquake, which lets her use Earthquake even if she has no points in it. Nagumo
@House of S: Sometimes i am blessed with blindness You are absolutely right --> didn't see the blue plus 1 above the skillicon I did a mistake at point 2: I mean not only skilllevel 7, i mean skilllevel 8, which is after reading handbook of Avadon the toplevel for skills. So with a bonus it would go above that --> is this really possible?
Lilith
Yes, you can take skills above 8 with specialisations and item bonuses. In fact, it's very beneficial to do so, since you get the same supercharged bonuses as you do for the 7th and 8th point.
Randomizer
Yes with items and/or column specializations you can go above 8 and get the same bonuses as at 7 and 8 where there is usually extra above the lower levels.
