Tenderfoot Thahd Bearro Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I really like this game but, especially since I do not have a credit card and use paypal I'm not very keen on this site's online shop. So here's the question - is there any chance the game will come to either steam or impulse? Quote
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 slight. you can buy all spidweb games on several places. Quote
Tenderfoot Thahd Bearro Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 Would you be so kind as to point me to any of them? I know only of Desura. Is there any more established shop selling them? Quote
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 If I recall correctly, Jeff tried to get the game on Steam but it was rejected. I've never seen SW games sold anywhere besides online. If all else fails, you should be able to order through the mail instead of the online shop. It'll be slow but better than nothing. Dikiyoba. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 The Mac version is available at the Mac Application Store. I haven't been looking, but they tend to appear later at other stores. Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Geneforge games have been sold in a somewhat odd fashion via some third-party repackage retailers. Quote
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 gamersgate sells Avadon and also macgamestore sells. Quote

From what I've heard, not so much "rejected" as "ignored". Steam is kind of unreliable about getting back to indie developers with any sort of response at all. Quote
Tenderfoot Thahd Bearro Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Thanks for all the answers, I think I'll go with gamersgate. Still I must say I'm really surprised about Steam, Eschalon series seems to be doing really well there. Quote
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 as i replied on other subforum you can pay via paypal too. http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/ordering.html Quote

Normally one just clicks buy with Paypal, enter login and that's it. Quote
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 The problem is the fact that Spiderweb has to generate the registration code that goes with your serial number by hand. They need to do something non-immediate, and they need to know where to send the results. —Alorael, who has found Spiderweb more than fair and trustworthy about these things. Everyone here will agree. Customers are literally Jeff's bread and butter, and he doesn't have so many that he can afford to have some decrying his business practices. Quote

Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Customers are figuratively Jeff's livelihood, but mostly they're delicious as both a spread and a vehicle for spread. —Alorael, who supposes "butter" isn't quite accurate. Paté describes it better. Quote
