iPad Avadon problem

Sadly I've stumbled on a bug that prevents the game from launching. Avadon warned me that I was running out of memory so I closed apps running in the background. I also restarted my iPad 2 to clean everything out and now the app won't launch. I can see game center and the loading bar and then crash. I've treks a few times, even restarting the iPad a few times to no avail.

I was exploring and killing wolves near Goldcrag.

When you close Avadon, it autosaves, and when you start it again, it immediately loads that save and continues the session. Maybe there is something wrong with that autosave, but I don't know how to circumvent it.

My only idea is using iPhone Explorer to make a backup of your save games, then deleting the ones in the high slot numbers that don't look like they are your manually created save games. I don't actually know if the autosave that is created when you close the game is one of those but maybe it's worth to try.

I have a similar problem. I am running Avadon on my first gen iPad. I am clearing out the wretches in the Wretch Warrens after talking to the dragon (first quest for him). Everything seems VERY sluggish in the Warrens although going back to the Aerie helps some. I have been getting regular warnings about low memory, even when all other apps are shut off. No crashing yet. I hope there is a solution out there, I would hate to quit so early into the game.

I should add that I have a lot of photos stored on the iPad, taking up maybe half the memory.

@Eddiemon: That is odd. An iPad 2 should have way more than enough memory to run Avadon with no trouble. And, of course, the app should launch.

I would recommend deleting Avadon from the device and iTunes, syncing, and then, when you are sure Avadon is done, download a fresh copy. First, I suggest using iPhone Explorer to back up your saved games.

@PhysWiz: A first gen iPad should have few problems when no other apps are running.

The Wretch Warrens problem might be due to npc pathing eating up a lot of processor power. Try killing the wretch patrols that head east from the keep and see if that helps.

If you keep having problems in other zones, consult the reinstallation advice above.
