Articulate Vlish echoes
OK, I can't find a switch, can't see an obvious point to switch between descending and ascending, can't recognize any clues in the paintings, banners and statues. Getting bored trying to pass this puzzle. What am I missing?
Articulate Vlish echoes
OK, I gave up and went to work on the other quest in that area. Hilarious.
Chittering Clawbug ewan
I second the stair frustration. Pretty sure that there are no hidden switches. Been down ten times, up ten times, tried two-down, one-up and other stuff. Could Nathalie not have left a clue?
Chittering Clawbug ewan
Tried the hansel & gretel approach of leaving 'breadcrumbs' - dropped food - and it's a 4-location cycle... but now what?
Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
Give up and leave the building.
Chittering Clawbug ewan
Aha. Well, honestly, that was annoying; persistence is only punished. But a fairly mild annoyance, I guess. Edit: in fact done before above advice; but thanks nonetheless!
Kyshakk Koan jlsgaladriel
Tried the hansel & gretel approach of leaving 'breadcrumbs' - dropped food -- Aha! *That's* what the brickmaking doodad is for! Creates all the brickish breadcrumbs one could want!
Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
It would be kind of neat to have one of these that wasn't entirely useless...say, something that randomly made low-value items that one could sell, or low-value consumables (actually the latter probably wouldn't work in Avadon, but a healing potion/pod maker would have been interesting in Avernum/Geneforge). As long as the items were cheap/the generation rate was low, it wouldn't disrupt play balance: in theory it could give you infinite money, but if you're so obsessively dogged that you'll walk around for hours waiting for slightly-sellable trowels to generate, maybe you deserve large amounts of in-game money. Sort of a Sylak's Enlightening Amber, only for items/money.
Kyshakk Koan jlsgaladriel
I'd be highly gratified if the brickmaker eventually spit out a gem or crystal, sort of a bug in its magical programming. So far, I'm simply amusing myself by dropping bricks into bad guys' treasure chests.
