Curious Artila Unstable Platapi
I've been playing A6 for a while now, and recently got to the memorial grounds. When I tried to load up my save, it said "This copy of the game isn't registered, and your save point is past the demo barrier. Returning to the start." It then gives me the game over screen. I definitely haven't ever registered A6, and last I didn't think that the memorial grounds were beyond the demo barrier. What's going on here? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Probably file corruption error. Try restarting the game and see if that clears up the problem. Otherwise you might need to download the demo again.
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
Uninstall the game completely before redownloading and reinstalling. This is almost undoubtedly a file corruption. - Jeff Vogel
Curious Artila Unstable Platapi
Nope, a complete reinstall didn't help. Does this mean I have to start over?
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
If you only have the problem with the one save file, then it is just that one save file that is corrupted. A new save file should fix the problem. Curious Artila Unstable Platapi
It doesn't really give me a chance to save. So I take it I have to start over?
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Since it probably your save file being corrupted, restarting is probably the only thing you can do.
Kyshakk Koan cfgauss
But that's really odd, why would that be save file corruption? Shouldn't it just be checking the location against your actual location of something? Even if the save file had a corrupted location, moving to a new location should fix that? Seems like this could be at least partly contributed to by a bug in the code that checks if you're registered? Alternatively, I would imagine registering would fix this bug, but that doesn't seem like a great general solution .
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
But when completely uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work...
Curious Artila Unstable Platapi
Oh well. Thanks for the help anyway. Besides, now I can try a slightly different build, so it's not all bad.
