MrRoivas
I have a problem. You see, in G2 there is the cutest little friendly rat you ever did see. The problem is that while some leveling takes care of his health issue, what never goes away is the little guy's horrible accuracy. I woves the rat so much that I want to fix that issue. Anyone know where in the game files I could change his base accuracy, and how?
Barzhal
It's not just the rat that has horrible accuracy in G2. Pretty much everything has horrible accuracy until later in the game at later levels. I apologize though, I'm not sure how to change the game files according to your wishes. MrRoivas
At the very least, could somebody point me out to where the general (i.e. not map) scripts are kept? I notice that there is a creature guide on GameFAQs, so somebody was able to find the creature scripts. Edit: I've checked the script folder for G2, and while it has a lot of script files, that seem to define npc behavior and map settings, rather than NPC stats. Can anyone issue clarification? A less presumptuous name.
There should be a folder named gforscen.txt (or whatever the windows equivalent file type is). This has all of the data you could ever want. Terrain, walls, and then the good stuff: abilities, items, and creatures. [EDIT] Make sure you back this file up before messing with it. The same goes for any file.
Xelgion
I see a file called gf2scendata.dat, but when I try to open it with wordpad it displays a bunch of goobldey gook with the occasional readable set of words. Advice on a program that would read the file? Edit: Sorry, didn't realize my brother logged in with his account until I had posted.
Acky
Try downloading EditLite pad. It's really good with BoA scripts.
Lilith
That's not the one you want. The file you're looking for is in the Scripts folder, and it's a .txt file, not a .dat file.
MrRoivas
Is master1 correct as to the name? I can't see a file called gforscen.txt in the scripts folder. Edit: NVM, being an idiot. It was there. Further edit: From what I can tell, the standalone creations you can pick up (friendly rat, Hryk, abandoned thahd) don't seem to be specifically defined in the scripts I found. Could the friendly rat be defined by the ordinary rat scripts? If so, what would be a good way to find out? Edit: Got it! The friendly rat is defined by the ordinary rat script. I also now know how to up the accuracy of its attack (and add a little damage probably). Doing the same for the huge roamer. What I wasn't able to find was the definition for the default accuracy, sans affection by ability level. Oh well.
