I prefered the graphics, because the bright blue cave floor annoyed my eyes! Also... Fledgling Fyora rivercitypimp Posted April 5, 2005 Share Posted April 5, 2005 I can't find any place to download an older version then 2.0 but I have version 1.1 wich has the older graphics. And if you perfer them i sugest doing what i do. Instead of actully playing the older version. Play the new one but replace the new image files with the old ones. I like doing it this way because the new version has a few little improvments like how the actual game area of the window is in the center and not in the top left corner. Helps when your like me and want to play full screen. Also seems to help when i kick down my resolution to 600x800. I'm not at my computer right now. I got it on a shareware disk... 1120 Games... or something. Unfortunately I holepunched the CD to see what would happen. 'doh. On the 2.0 version theres an aditional bitmap named "Comanim.BMP" and what it is, is the pc's and monsters for the little intro "movie" thingy. It has the new version grafix so when you use the 2.0 version with the old grafix the little movie shows the new grafix for just the caracters but the tarain will be in old school grafix. But in the game itself however it will all be with the old grafix. If any one wants to go through the troble and change "Comanim.BMP" to show the old caracters be my guest, i might do it some day. ... or maybe i'm just gunna be lazy) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fledgling Fyora rivercitypimp Posted April 9, 2005 Share Posted April 9, 2005 Appon Closer inspection of the Grafix change from the old to the new i noticed somthing. Not only did they just change what everything looked like. They actully added a few things. One terran square and two characters. The Terran is just the adition of an alter except on tile instead of dirt. The two extra characters are only what i can assume are the spider queen and Sss-Thss. I havent actully tested it out but if you play with the old grafix they should come up as being compleatly white along with the alter. So i Did what could. I took what was already there from the old stuff and made up for the gap. Um i don't know if the game actully uses the characters or not. And if you'd rather them look like the other characters just do some copy past and that should do the trick. I love the old graphics as I am a classics junkie! The new ones are just too... un-cartoony coolness. Hmmm... maybe someone should play around with ruined world and or Blades graphics!
