Curious Artila diipadaapaa
Is there anyway to improve selling prices? I think I'm ripped off everytime I visit merchants. It's long time since I played A1-A3 and I vaguely remember that there were some merchant skill which made selling prices rocket up. Thanks. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
A4 marked a change from the earlier games. Merchants now all buy at the same price, but sell at different prices. There is no more barter skill to improve prices in your favor. You are welcome. And welcome to the Spiderweb Software Forums. Unflappable Drayk ĐªгŦĦ Єяŋϊε
yeah it always upsetting to have an item marked at $1000 and sell it for $125 and are able to buy it back for $2500

Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
It's not free at all! Apparently the Castle mandates buying prices. Merchants can apply for several different permits with different selling prices, but woe unto the merchant who sells at a different rate. —Alorael, who actually imagines that Avernum spent quite some time with a command economy. Or at least tried to. It had the combined problems of shortages of everything and a populace literally hand-picked to not play well with authority. Really it's a miracle that Australia Avernum functions at all.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
lol! doubt empire's prices are much different.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
The Empire also mandates prices. Anyone caught violating its laws and licensing system is banished to Avernum. Or at least they were. Now, of course, they have to be summarily executed. —Alorael, who wonders if the Empire just redirected its portal to Fort Avernum so that rather than disassembling someone at point A and reassembling them at the fort it disassembles them at point A and doesn't worry about what happens afterwards.
