Serious Geneforge 5 graphic problem.[G5]

I posted a similar topic weeks ago, but however I am a little to bring up the previous thread. So anyways this is my problem: I can't see the advanced graphics of items and creations (Example: My Battle Beta is red in colour, as opposed to the original blue.)

In the previous thread people told me to turn off fast graphics, and set graphics to draw all. But I did those, and yet it still does not come out.

I am currently using a half-a-dozen years old Windows, and the original G5 couldn't be played on it. So I am currently using the DirectX version. Is it because of this I can't received the advanced graphics in G5?

(BTW, All the other Geneforge games (1-4), I could receive the extra graphics on the same computer I am using. But G5 is the only exception.)

in Directx, you cant change the color of your creations. Battle Betas will be orange, and all crystals will be red, unbound will be green, ect. So as long as your playing directx your stuck with that.

Aww, man. thanks for letting me know that anyways. BTW, I use DirectX because the original version has out-the-usual G5 colors at the startup, and when I clicked "New Game", my com says there's an error and the game needs to be exited.

 

Any idea what's the prob?

That's my guess. I'm not a Windows person, so I can't be sure, but your computer may not be able to handle all the stuff in the regular version.
