Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
Yeah, that would be very very time consuming. But i agree with ackrovan in the fact that there are 4 passes into the citadel. Nodye coast, Lethia province, stormplains, and the Mera-Tev all feed into the Citadel. As far as im aware of. Ackrovan is moving to burwood Ackrovan is moving to Mera Artemis is soon to indulge on cansiters Serviles dont seem like they will be moving from drypeak Sholai are trying to build a new geneforge Ashen isles are trying to not be destroyed ESC seems to be extremely violent... Shaper new order is going for Dera Shaper New order is going for the citadel... I think that sums up everything. BTW if i post tonight it will be late. Also, Ive updated the last paragraph of my new post
Rotghroth Rhapsody Hypnotic
Hey cool this does look like fun. I'm kinda new to the whole RP thing so be patient with me. I will try and post my faction within about 12 hours of this post. Here are a couple of spolers just so the stroy flows smoothly until I emerge. Dera reaches is having a bit of termoil with some strange humans. The seem to colour the maps their cream (Hint hint for the big map) and call themselves.... Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
Fail- the Western passes are in the storm plains.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Actually, I count the Western Passes as being on the border between Lethia and the Storm Plains. So, from that perspective, you are correct.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Oh, and Emperor: I've got a new version of your faction map. It now includes the Ashen Isles. Additionally, it now has land and sea routes marked, and is slightly smaller. Do you mind if I upload it?
Rotghroth Rhapsody Hypnotic
Enter the Doctors. Mages with shaper skills that have currently taken over the Dera reaches. *Gasp!*
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
Upload away. And the Western passes are def. In Storm plains, as you never enter Lethia Province.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Uploaded. I wanted it to be an RLE bitmap, but w-dueck has limitations on that, so... Also, the ASG article is now up-to-date.
Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Umm, the Ashen Isles should be moved to the right, above Burwood.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Artemis~
Wait, there was some city mentioned in G3 at the end where your shaper or rebel ended up...I just dont remember what it was called. This could be used to show exactly where the ashen isles are [south of this city or something like that]. But you can tell Acky that. I'm not talking to him until he gives me my dang ball. ;D
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
It was Poryphrea, and the Ashen Isles should be about half that size.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
*Emperor uploads new map* HOLY- *modem crashes* I take it you've never heard of PNG compression? That's roughly a 2347% jump in filesize! Also, why are there two lines linking the Island of the Eyes to Drypeak? It's one section, and I'm fairly certain there's only the one access point.
Unflappable Drayk Sleeping Dragon
I did not see Emperor's new map (the link leads to nothing currently) but would it be too much to ask that Drypeak not be accessible from the seas? It is a valley, after all.
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
Sorry. I am not familiar with PNG compression. If you could fix it for me, I would be grateful. And sure, make it inaccessible from the seas if you want.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
http://rpwiki.calref.co.cc/index.php/File:ASGfactionmap.png This link will always point to the current map. Rotghroth Rhapsody Hypnotic
@ Shaper Spiddn: Sadly the Doctors appeared after you made your plans to invade the Dera reaches. After you next post assesing and possible attacking this new threat I will post again. For now the Doctors are assesing their options and are attempting to seal lethia pass. I guess hiding in hole had its downside. We have no idea an army of shapers Is about to attack us.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
Agreed. But just remember we're not drakons. I dont necesarily want to kill you...just maybe move you somewhere else. I just want the Dera reaches because of its tactical advantages...nothing personal. just business. Edit:Read my new post, i've changed my plans. Your safe for now, ive turned my sights towards the Nodeye coast, its in norhtern terrestia where all the action is happening. Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Errr, Spddin, teleportation doesn't exist in Geneforge.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
yes it does. Geneforge 3. I actually described it just as they did in the game. That kyhryyk fellow did it.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Yeah, but it required an incredible amount of energy just to transport one person a distance of a few yards. It's specifically mentioned that such a spell has a short range. There'd be no way that any number of shapers could teleport themselves and an entire army several miles.
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
Perhaps it should be agreed that it only be used for short distances? Otherwise, someone could just teleport an army into the fortress of the opposition and begin merrily slaughtering away.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
ok. i will change the post around a little bit. I will take out the teleportation and replace it with a 2 day journey. Does Everything else seems all right?
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Well, I can't help but notice the addition of wings to the Arbors... Anyway, I think the Spike Roamers need to be toned down slightly. Not in terms of damage, though, but in terms of the spike's lifespan. I'm guessing those spikes move about as fast as a thorn from a baton. If so, giving them a life of 10 minutes just flying around searching for a target is a very bad idea. They could wind up hitting a target clear cross Terrestria, which is sort of stupid, considering that the target could be you, your armies... so forth. But if they're experimental, I suppose it could be a flaw they only discover once they deploy them (and promptly wind up getting chased by a cloud of spikes). But when you do tone it down, I recommend something like 10 seconds. Still reasonable, but it won't let them travel too far from where they started.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
yeah, i was having a diffucult time thinking of a proper time to give them as a life span. Im starting to think 10 or 20 seconds would be best.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Seeing as we're starting to introduce several creation variants and such, I thought it'd be useful to have an article on them.
Unflappable Drayk Sleeping Dragon
I decided that 'Drypeak Serviles' was kind of a boring name. We're the Drypeak Confederacy now. You know, for the next version of your map.

Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Not. . . really. Clawbugs can tunnel, yes, but through miles of solid rock?
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Not meant to, but that's sort of the way it's turning out. Not that it's a problem. SD: Got it.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
Yeah, clawbugs can tunnel through miles of solid rock...it takes time, and you'd probably have to replace the clawbugs constantly because their claws would most likely dull, but neverthe less it could be done.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
It'd probably take a lot of time. Not only do you have to worry about dull claws, but if the clawbugs hit a bad patch of rock, it could bring that part of the tunnel crashing down.
Well-Actually War Trall Acky
Plus, you need to make sure the tunnel is actually stable enough to transport troops through. This includes making beams to support the ceiling, paving the ground so wheels and soft-footed creations can pass through etc. There's a reason that the Shapers don't do it often. Easygoing Eyebeast Goldengirl
To pre-empt any concerns over Kov and the Presence: neither are invincible. Kov, in fact, is as mortal as ever. Stab him through the heart, and he dies. The Presence, on the other hand, can always fall back from host to host, until it is too weak and dies with a host. The more creations it controls, the more powerful it is. The Presence cannot control high-level creations such as Drakons and Gazers at its current prowess. It also can't control creations that are under the direct control of a Shaper or Lifecrafter. However, as it gets stronger, this will eventually change. Rotghroth Rhapsody Hypnotic
@ Master Ackrovan. I love how the forces loyal to 'Pythagorass' happen to be builders. Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
I love how everyone has a different writing style. It makes for an interesting game. Quote: As if one, the Eyebeasts around the circle smiled. Seeing a Gazer smile was a truly terrifying event. Their mouths were filled with razor-sharp teeth, and for some reason their way of digesting essence absorbed light. When a Gazer smiled, the room went dark. This was appropriate, considering the events that would make a Gazer smile, would make the rest of the world a very dark place, indeed. This is one of my favorite posts. Good job.
