Artemis~
Since Geneforge is such an awesome game, I thought it deserved a proper burial. But I dont feel like writing an ulogy, so you guys can do that. Any thoughts before we lay this heartfelt story to rest?
Sleeping Dragon
Hey, everyone knows Jeff doesn't let games die. It's only a matter of time before he comes out with a new, improved Geneforge. I, personally, hope he will take that opportunity to continue the series as well, like he did when he made Avernum. Though, I suppose, in order for a game to be resurrected, it has to die first. So, goodbye Geneforge. For now.
Chessrook44
It's not dead, it's just resting! It'll wake up when Geneforge 6 comes out.
Potato
I'm pretty sure that the Geneforge series is finished. (We can only hope for Blades of Geneforge)
Acky
My opinion's are pretty much the same as Sleeping Dragons. Jeff has shown that he prefers to remake games rather then let them die. So Geneforge is not going to die, but rather, go take a nap. And if Jeff doesn't, we'll just use the Geneforge and force him. Also, a G6 is very unlikely. Aside from the fact that there's no where left to explore, both of the endgames really have that *final* feeling. Rebels kill the Shaper Council, and None-rebels kill Ghaldring. So there's no cliffhanger or unanswered questions.
Wisdom
Nethergate: Resurrection.
Hypnotic
Its possible for another game. Whatever happens to the Sholai? Mabey they have magic better than shaping. Mabey they don't have magic and instead jave strange artifacts like areoplanes and tanks. Besides the shapers arn't totaly dead at the end of all the endings and the rebels are pushed back or go into hiding. Some posiblity for a new game. But for now the geneforge is a weird sleeping beauty waiting for some outlandish reason to wake up.
Randomizer
GF1 clearly mentions that the Sholai have magic, but not shaping. No advanced technology.
Dikiyoba
Bleh. No G6. No BoG. No continuing the story ten years down the road. Short and sweet is better than long and bloated. Dikiyoba.
Drakon Sssharxx
I would like a BoG because at least then we have the power to create our own scenarios. Rather than just end it why not make it semi open scource? Give the power to the fans to create alternative timelines.
Acky
I'd not like a Geneforge six either. A BoG would be cool though.
A less presumptuous name.
Didn't Spiderweb almost go belly-up with BoA? Why on earth would Jeff risk it with a BoG? Geneforge is finished. After A6, Jeff is starting up a whole new thing. I doubt a remake is in the future.
fractalnavel
Well, take a look at The Joy Of Rereleasing Old Games. Never say "never".
Artemis~
Well, if you ask me, the evidence is right in front of us. Like Acky said, there's nothing else to do. Well...unless we play some angry farmers torching shaper cities. But that's more then unlikely. As for a BoG...I don't exactly know what a "Blades" game is [seriously...what's the differnce between Avernum and Blades of Avernum???] oh well. Edit: Artemis remembers in G3, shaper jolana in the caverns on Gull said something along the lines of, "Hanna will be missed. She Brang me food, but I didnt like the flavor of the meat she brought me." Uh, Jolana? The Drayk was bringing you human flesh. Artemis realized this all by herself. I'm so proud of myself. Dikiyoba
BoE and BoA let you create your own scenarios and play the scenarios that other people created. You should try them. It's fun. Dikiyoba.
Velzan
Mmm BoG That would be kinda cool. Supposing its not an actual Bog... Also I declare my return to teh forums.
Shaper Tristan
ive always thought that maybe there could be like a geneforge prequl(how do you spell that) that features the shapers before they conquer terrestia, ex: vs the woods people of mera. Namine
You know, When i think of "Geneforge 6", i always think of like you starting as a shaper in an academy. Like in geneforge 3. But instead you actually learn, and go on missions, and make your way to the council rank xD.
Student of Trinity
Five games is a long story, and I don't really think Jeff has left himself much new to do with Geneforge. So I'm expecting to someday see 'Geneforge: Resurrection', with an engine overhaul and only token bits of new content at most. But no G6.
