But Anaximander says that, right? :p

But yeah, it is good to get a little experience from relatively easy goblins and brigands, and if you go down farther, wolves. Don't venture into northern Upper Exile with your beginner party, however. There's no telling what you might meet. Your best bet is to stay south of the lake until you're leveled up a little bit, in which case you can find some good fights.

And once you have cleaned out the goblins/brigands, you can venture north a bit to Ghikra (the Vahnatai town) and maybe take on the spiny worm that is in the breeding pit.

Also, do not, and I repeat DO NOT go so far north that you reach the home of Erika the Mage. Next to it is a special encounter in which you fight a lot of ogres and sliths. Take them on when you are a lot stronger, Mitchy. I strongly reccomend you are at least at level 30 (average) when you take them on.

DO NOT SOIL THE NAME OF WILLIAM THOMAS FLETCHER WITH YOUR INCORRECT USE, SIR

Anyway, perhaps what he's having problems with is understanding the dialogue system. Read the instruction manual if you haven't already. Remember, you can click on words in the dialogue to ask about them. That's how you have conversations in the Exile games.
