G4: Newb question

[Irritation]

Celebrating my first post! Something which was supposed to happen 3 years ago if I had tried to find something better than Matt Pasek walkthroughs. Still I am very happy.

 

I have just started Geneforge 4 with lifecrafter. I managed to get info from Miranda. Her name suggest me as an old player of spiderweb that she has a major role in game. Am I right?

 

Game is telling me that the great lifecrafters are able to win the game without any fight. How it is possible?

 

Please give some suggestion on creations as there are too many choices to make.

 

How long I can delay my clear decision to join a side?

 

And now I will see how someone will say welcome Irritation . But you know, on the basis of my job experience, I honestly can't stop myself from saying that I have dealt with a lot of communities, out of which, most are harsh and uncaring and my experience says that this is one of the best community I have ever seen. Therefore, also the first I ever joined. *happy*

Well hey there Irritation. I would say the customary greeting, but the second half always eludes me.

 

Winning as a pacifist, that is, without killing anything, is not particularly easy and I don't have any advice for you.

 

Creations: Early on, it's pretty simple: Fyoras and such. As the game progresses, wingbolts tend to be the best you can get. Battle creations are not the greatest.

 

And as for factions, I believe (it's been a while) that you can wait until very close to the end to declare a faction. Be warned, however, that you should keep you reputation fairly neutral if you wish to reap the benefits of both sides.

She's pretty important, yeah.

Every battle that you absolutely have to fight in the game gives you NPC allies. If you keep them healed, you can let them win those battles for you. Other battles can be avoided using leadership, mechanics and stealth. There are some areas that you won't be able to clear without directly attacking enemies, though; I don't think it's really a fun way to play the game, especially on a first attempt.

Magic shaping very good, fire shaping good, battle shaping very bad. Cryoas and Vlish are good early on. Drayks are pretty good in the midgame. Once you get Wingbolts, make as many of them as possible and forget about everything else.

You can play both sides against each other for almost the whole game if you do it right. If you want to do this, lean pro-Shaper at the start of the game: the rebels are more desperate and will keep working with you even if you betray them, but it's possible to permanently mess up your chances with the Shapers early on.

In playing a pacisfist as a life crafter what i did was create some creations that distract the enemy by getting killed while i run as fast as i can out of the area. Of course that didnt work all the time and its better to do it as a less physically frail class. The major problem that i ran into during my pacifist playthrough was that i wasn't gaining levels anywhere near as fast as i wanted.
