Malignment
If I wanted to maximize the benefit of the hall of testing reward (healing one) which increases essence infusion, healing, and cure affliction by one: Should I first find and train (healing specifically) to the maximum at a trainer before I read that scroll? sorry if this doesnt make sense.. new to the game. Archmagus Micael
Yes you should, as you can only buy skills up to a certain level. After that level, only rewards, books/tomes and canisters can increase your skill. EDIT: Alo says I'm wrong, so I may be on this case- it's definitely that way as far as I'm aware in the prior Geneforges however. - Archmagus Micael
Emmisary of Immanence
It makes no difference. You can always get the same amount of training with cash regardless of how many boosts you have from other sources. —Alorael, who likes this change to the engine quite a lot. Min/maxing training versus found rewards was a headache.

Important clarification: other sources DOES NOT INCLUDE any points you add manual, using your own skill points. Buying skills at level up WILL prevent you from buying them from a trainer later. Emmisary of Immanence
Right. I was thinking of spells and shaping, not skills. —Alorael, who considers it moderately useful to save on training skills. He's unfortunately less than hardcore (or tormented, as the case may be), and he can't stand running a character designed to use a certain ability without that very ability until a ways through the game.
