G3: Which Items to Collect?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. :]

I am wondering which items I should collect for quests in Geneforge 3.

In Geneforge 2 it was:

  • Iron Bars
  • Shaper Equipment
  • Mined Crystals

I'm currently just starting out in Geneforge 3 and I've already found a lot of Iron Bars, Shaper Equipment, Mined Crystals, Beautiful Crystals and so on. Which of these is it ok to sell and which will I need to collect for later?

Thanks for the quick answers. I found the lady that buys dried herbs. She's in the first zone on the second island.

Thanks for that link. Here is what it said, for anyone else who might be interested:

What items should I keep?

Keep all dried herbs, shaper research notes, and shaper equipment.

They all sell for much more at certain places than what you can find at a

typical store. Additionally, keep several rare items for recipes. Most

recipe items don’t sell for anything, so you shouldn't have a hard time

discerning what is what. Also, generally keep jewelry- you can add an

ingredient to them and make something worth a lot more than it cost.

Keep some shaped items like the belt, breastplate, and shield- these

are recipe ingredients, not just strong armor.

I guess I can sell all those Iron Bars and Beautiful/Flawed/etc. crystals then.

You needn't sell everything you come across just because it's there. If you're planning to use enchanted anvils, depending on what you want to make, you'll also want to keep other things; the walkthrough has a list of what you'll need.
