Chessrook44
OK, call me crazy, but I just have to know... How the heck do you pronounce Sucia Isle? Is it Soo-See-Ah? Soo-Kee-Ah? Soo-Shee-Ah? Some other pronunciation I don't know? I'm just really curious.
Emmisary of Immanence
No official pronunciation has been given, but I pronounce it "SOO-see-ah" or with even more of a dipthong, like "SOO-sya." That agrees pretty well with standard English pronunciation (as much as any such thing exists) and also matches the Spanish pronunciation. The Spanish seems appropriate, too: sucia, "dirty," is the right descriptor for an island full of Barred things. It'll keep the riff-raff out. Probably not intentional, but still nice. Of course the island was named before it was Barred, but never let accuracy ruin a good naming scheme. —Alorael, who could go with the more Castillian "Soo-thya" but doesn't. Shapers clearly aren't from Castille.
Chessrook44
Gotcha, thanks. And who knows, people could possibly use this thread to ask about any other words they're unsure how to pronounce... if there are any.
Emmisary of Immanence
Actually, this has come up already elsewhere. —Alorael, who thinks perhaps that thread belongs in this forum. Many of the examples aren't G5 exclusives.
