Duck in a Top Hat
I think Geneforge 2 is giving me headaches. Last year, I was playing it for about three hours straight. Eventually I stopped playing, and I started reading, but there were these retina burn-ish spots in my eyes and I couldn't see very well. And then half of my jaw went numb, and I had a migraine. About a week ago, I was playing G2 for a while, and I started feeling pressure in my eyes. So, as any rational person would have, I stopped, and shortly afterwards had a huge headache. Last night I just made the connection between the two headaches. Seeing as my migraine was thought to be brought about by a virus, but no such virus was found, I am becoming suspicious that this game is giving me headaches. Has this happened to anyone else? Lilith
If you get migraines, you probably shouldn't stare at a computer screen for three hours straight. Take a 15-minute break every hour. Do you still use a CRT? They can trigger migraines, especially if the refresh rate is too low.
Enraged Slith
I'm no expert, but I would see a doctor. Painful, reoccuring headaches are nothing to mess around with.
Randomizer
Eye strain headaches are quite common. Do you wear eye glasses or contacts? Staring at a computer screen for several straight hours easily triggers it because the distance isn't the same as normal reading or distance vision. Other computer uses allow you to look away for a few minutes even if you don't remember doing it, while games with a real time element require you to stare at it for much longer. Duck in a Top Hat
Oh, I don't think it's serious enough to go to the doctor. Glasses have nothing to do with it, as I don't wear them. I just wanted to see if anyone else had that happen. Thanks for the advice, everyone.
Randomizer
You can still have the problem without needing glasses. But it is most likely staring too long at the screen.
The Ratt
Also if there isn't enough background light, that can cause problems. Especially if you are tired.
