Seasoned Roamer Nightowl2
Have five creations in my group. Wanted to make a sixth; game won't let me. Says "can only have at most six different types of creations". Bug? If not, how can I get six? Current group: cryoa, drayk, wingbolt, trall, and rotghroth. Unrelated q: Just learned "make drakon". Drayk is L36. Worth trading in for a drakon, or should I keep it? Thanks for all help and advice. - Nightowl2
Rotghroth Rhapsody Ouroboros
Actually is six on your pary so, you can only have 5 creation at time and you better arsob the cyroa and drayk, just make a Drakon or Cyrodryak to replace the cyroa. Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Well, for some reason, the game only allows you to have a few different types of creations. The total amount of creations actually is 6, but to get all of them you need to have some of the creations you have already made of the same kind. Eg.: Drake Drake Drake Clawbug Cryodrake Ornk. For the Drakon, it is a better version of the Drake, but making it depends on how much essence you have, your shaping levels, and if you rely heavily or not on casting spells. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
And, of course, on creation levels. I can't recall the base level of the drakon, but if the drayk is still pulling its weight in fights and the drakon isn't much more effective you can probably stick with the drayk and save on essence. —Alorael, who would normally be inclined to upgrade anyway just to start building experience for a plausible end-game creation. On the other hand, he doesn't like drakons very much. Rotghroths and war tralls tend to do better.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Tralls are much better this game than in GF4. Physical damage in a range attack is very useful and they have decent health. My rotghroth kept dying in the end game even though acid is a great attack. Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
More to the point, the damage multiplier of the War Trall's ranged attack MORE THAN DOUBLED between G4 and G5. I think its native attack strength increased, too.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
War tralls became just plain solid physical damage-dealers and tanks in G5. They won't do exceptional damage to anything, but they'll do sufficient damage to nearly everything. The other high-tier creations are hit or miss depending on fire and magic resistance. By the end of the game it's very much worth switching to rotdhizons. The essence cost is hefty, but they're significantly sturdier and, most importantly, they hit twice. A team of rots and tralls makes a decent late-game party and have the bonus of requiring only one type of shaping.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
CORRECTION OF INFORMATION You can have 7 creations in your party if you have the essence.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
I encountered the 5 different creation limit as well, although it really isn't that big of a deal. Just wondering, does anyone know why this would be? Is it some engine limitation (aka Jeff didn't feel like adding the lines in)??
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
The only way it really is bad is if someone really wants to have a full pack of completely different creations, but they probably wouldn't need it in the first place. I wonder why there is even a limitation at all?
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
GRAPHICS. Notice all those video memory problems windows users are hitting with G5? Having more sprites and a greater variety of them eatings up graphics processing power. Jeff chose a moderate limit to put compatibility first. Seasoned Roamer Nightowl2
Huh. Random was right. Can have up to seven in party, but some have to be dupes. Gotta remember that for next time. Thanks for the replies. Learn something new every day here. - Nightowl2
